Wedding photo & video across Alabama
Troth Weddings is a network of independent wedding photographers and videographers. In Alabama we start in Huntsville, where Monte Sano State Park covers 2,140 acres on the mountain, with picnic areas and overlooks2, and where the Big Spring in the middle of downtown was the city's original water source3. Between them, a wedding can move from a hillside to a historic district in a day.
One team handles photo and video, so you work with one partner from the first call to the delivered gallery, and the same people plan the portraits and the sound. We send that partner's recent galleries and films before you speak. If your date is elsewhere in Alabama, name the town on the form. Travel is built into the quote.
Locations in Alabama
In Alabama we shoot in Huntsville. Its page covers the historic districts, Monte Sano, the botanical garden's photography rules and a November timeline built around the short days, with the certificate steps and Madison County's listed recording fee. The form that asks for your date also takes a note about the setting you have in mind. For a wedding elsewhere in Alabama, tell us the town on the form and we will reply within one business day.
Alabama marriage license basics
Alabama has no marriage license to buy. Since August 29, 20191, probate courts no longer issue them: the couple completes the Alabama Marriage Certificate form and delivers it to a probate court for recording. The form must be signed and notarized and delivered to the probate court within 30 days of the later of the two signatures1; otherwise the marriage is not valid and a new form is needed.
A wedding ceremony is optional and is not required for a recognized marriage in Alabama. The form may be recorded in any Alabama county probate court, each court sets its own recording fee, and emailed certificates are not accepted1. Because the form carries two signatures, the 30 days run from the later one1. For Madison County's listed fee, see our Huntsville page.

Questions couples ask
01How far in advance should we book a wedding photographer in Alabama?
Book when you have a date. The certificate has its own clock: it must reach a probate court within 30 days of the later signature1, so it is timed close to the day. The photographer's date is the one that needs lead time; a deposit holds it once you have spoken.
02Do you travel to Alabama, and is travel included?
Travel is built into the quote, not added later. Our Alabama pages are written for Huntsville. If your wedding is somewhere else in the state, tell us the town on the form and we will say whether we can match a partner photographer to it.
03Can we book photo and video together?
Yes. Every collection comes as photo, video, or both, with the same team on the day. Film plans around local rules: at the Huntsville Botanical Garden, drones need prior approval and an FAA Part 107-certified pilot4, and one crew keeps that coordination in one place.
04What happens if it rains on our wedding day?
December is Huntsville's wettest month in the normals, at 5.87 in5. We plan for rain from the start: a sheltered option for each portrait stop, a second portrait window later in the day, and a decision made together in the morning rather than on the trail.
