Who we are

Troth Weddings is a network of independent wedding photographers and videographers. This website is operated by YourDigitalExpert Inc., 500-167 Lombard Ave, Winnipeg, MB, R3B 0V3, Canada ("we", "us"). We are responsible for the personal information described in this policy. It takes effect on 6 November 2026.

What we collect

When you send the inquiry form we collect what you type into it: your names, your email address, your wedding date or month, the location, the collection you are interested in (photo, film, both or not sure) and any note you add. We also record which page of this site you sent the form from.

Our hosting provider processes technical information in order to deliver the site and protect it from abuse, such as your IP address and browser type. The country your request comes from is included in the notification we receive about a new inquiry. We do not ask for payment details, and you should not put any in the note.

How we use it

We use the information you send to:

  • reply to your inquiry;
  • introduce you to the partner photographer matched to your location;
  • keep a record of the inquiry and of what we sent you;
  • protect the form from spam and misuse; and
  • meet our legal obligations.

How We Share Your Information

The purpose of this site is to introduce you to a photographer. When you send the form, we deliver your inquiry (names, email, date, location, collection and note) to one partner photographer: the partner photographer matched to the location you named. By sending the form you ask us to do this, and you agree that the partner may contact you about your inquiry.

The partner is an independent business. Once they have your inquiry they handle it under their own privacy practices, and any contract you make is with them. We deliver your inquiry to one partner, not to several, and we do not sell your information to data brokers or share it for advertising. The photographer pays us a referral fee for the introduction; the fee does not change your price.

We also use service providers to run the site. Cloudflare provides the hosting and the database where inquiries are stored, and a private messaging service (currently Telegram) notifies us when an inquiry arrives. These providers process your information only to provide those services. We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our users, our partners or ourselves.

Cookies and tracking

At launch this site does not use advertising pixels, advertising cookies or cross-site tracking, and we do not build advertising profiles. Our hosting provider may set technical cookies or keep technical logs for security and delivery. If we add website analytics, we will describe them here and change the date at the top of this policy.

How long we keep it

We keep your inquiry for as long as it takes to handle it and any booking that follows, and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you or the photographer need to refer back to it. After that we delete it. You can ask us to delete it sooner at any time; see the next section.

Your rights and how to delete your data

Email [email protected] to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to withdraw your consent to our passing it on or contacting you. We respond within the time the law requires. If you ask us to delete your inquiry, we delete our copy and pass your request to the partner photographer who received it. We cannot control copies the partner already holds under their own practices, but they are bound by their own privacy obligations.

If you are in Canada

Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) you may ask for access to your personal information, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and withdraw your consent. If you believe your privacy rights have not been respected, you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Under Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), we write to you about your inquiry because you asked us to. We do not add your email address to a mailing list or send promotional messages. If we ever offer updates, it will be by a separate opt-in with an unsubscribe link.

If you are in the United States

Depending on your state, you may have rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act and similar state laws: to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and to be free from discrimination for asking. We use your information to carry out the introduction you asked for, and we disclose it to the partner photographer for that purpose. We do not sell personal information to data brokers, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise a right, email [email protected].

Where your information is processed

Troth Weddings is operated from Canada by YourDigitalExpert Inc. When you send the form, your information is transferred to and processed in Canada, and in the countries where our hosting provider and the partner photographer operate. Canadian privacy law applies to us in addition to any privacy law that applies where you live.

Security

The site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), access to stored inquiries is limited to us and the services described above, and the form includes measures against automated abuse. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

This site is for adults planning a wedding. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site changes, for example if we add analytics. The date at the top of the page shows when it last changed.
