Wedding videography, recorded by the crew that photographs your day
The feature film, the teaser and the ceremony audio, recorded by the same crew that photographs your day.

In short
Troth Weddings records wedding videography through independent partner photographers matched to your location: a feature film that follows the day in order, a short teaser, and the full ceremony audio. Sound comes from lavalier microphones and a separate recorder placed with the officiant. The film is made by the same crew as your photographs.
What a wedding film is for
A photograph holds one second of the day. A film holds the rest: the pause before the vows, the sound of the room, the voices of the people standing closest to you. It is the one record of the wedding that you can play for someone who was not there.
Troth Weddings partners make films as part of the same crew that photographs your day, so the two do not compete for position. The photographer and the videographer agree where each will stand before the ceremony begins, and the schedule is built to give both the light they need.
If you want only the film, that is a choice too: every collection comes as photo, video, or both. For the photographs that usually go with it, see wedding coverage.
What the film includes
- The feature film. It follows the day in order and keeps the sound of the room: the ceremony, the toasts the room allows, and the movement between them.
- The teaser. A short piece made for sharing, so you have something to send around while the full film is still on its way.
- The ceremony edit. The full ceremony with its audio, from the first word to the last, so vows and readings are heard in full.
Sound is recorded with lavalier microphones and a separate recorder placed with the officiant. Two sources are better than one: if a microphone fails or the wind rises, the recorder still has the vows. Speeches and toasts depend on the room, and your partner will tell you before the day what the venue's sound allows.
Adding film to your booking
Choose film in the form, or choose not sure yet and ask on the call. A film-only booking and a photo-and-film booking cover the same stretch of the day; the difference is which deliverables you receive. The partner photographer matched to your location sends recent films along with the price list.
Before you decide, watch more than the teaser. Ask the partner for a full ceremony edit and a feature from a wedding of a similar size to yours. Before we list a partner we review full weddings, not highlight reels, and that is the test worth applying yourself too. Ask also how footage is backed up on the day and how the audio is handled when the room is loud.
On the day, the crew works from the schedule agreed in the questionnaire. After the wedding, a sneak peek or teaser comes first, then the full film on the date set in your contract.
For a small ceremony, see elopements; for what happens after the day, albums and prints.
Where we film weddings
Four places have a film page of their own, with the filming light and local notes. Every other location is covered by the same kind of film, and its page describes the day there.
United States, with a film page. Boise, Charlotte, New Orleans, Pittsburgh.

Collections
Every collection comes as photo, video, or both, with the same team on the day. Half day covers an elopement or a small ceremony and portraits; Full day runs from getting ready to the first hour of the reception; Two days adds a rehearsal dinner, a welcome evening or a next-morning session. Travel to your location is built into the quote, not added later.
Prices depend on the date, the team and how far we travel, so we send a price list for your location rather than publishing one number for every town. Ask for it below; it arrives within one business day.

Questions about wedding videography
01How long is the wedding film?
The feature follows the day in order, so its running time depends on how long your collection runs and how much happens in it. The teaser is a short piece made for sharing. Your partner states the expected running times and the delivery dates in your contract, so you know what you are buying before you commit.
02Do you record the vows and speeches?
Vows, yes: lavalier microphones and a separate recorder placed with the officiant capture the ceremony from two sources. Speeches depend on the room, the microphone setup and whether the venue provides a sound feed. Ask your partner on the call what the venue allows, and they will plan the recording around it.
03Do you fly a drone?
Only where the rules allow it. Parks, cities and venues each set their own limits, and some places do not permit drones at all. Your partner checks the rules for your location before offering aerial footage, and the location pages cite the rule wherever we found one. If a place bans drones, the film is planned without.
04When is the film delivered?
A sneak peek or teaser comes first. The full film follows on the date set in your contract, which depends on the length of your collection and the partner's schedule. Ask for the dates on the first call, and check that they appear in the contract you sign.
Ask for the price list.
Send your date and place, and choose video or photo and video in the form. We reply within one business day with the price list for your location and examples of the partner's recent films.
