Wedding photographer & videographer in Omaha
Omaha's Old Market keeps brick-paved streets from the turn of the 20th century, with covered sidewalks in places1, which makes it a natural first stop for portraits. Below: the other places we shoot, the light across the seasons, and what Nebraska needs from you before the ceremony.

How we shoot Omaha

Omaha days we shoot include small ceremonies with portraits, full weddings and two-day weekends, in photo, video or both.
Collections
Every collection comes as photo, video, or both, with the same team on the day. Half day covers an elopement or a small ceremony and portraits; Full day runs from getting ready to the first hour of the reception; Two days adds a rehearsal dinner, a welcome evening or a next-morning session. Travel to Omaha is built into the quote, not added later.
Prices depend on the date, the team and how far we travel, so we send a price list for Omaha rather than publishing one number for every town. Ask for it below; it arrives within one business day.

The day
The day,as we shoot it in Omaha

A July day in Omaha runs from a 06:03 sunrise to a 20:55 sunset on the 15th11, with an average high of 88.1°F and a low of 68°F12. Heat decides the order: portraits that need walking go at the edges of the day, and the ceremony waits for the shade. A sample:
- Sunrise11. If you want portraits before it gets warm, we start on the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge, which crosses the Missouri River4.
- Morning Getting ready, a first look and family portraits at Memorial Park, near Dundee7.
- Afternoon The ceremony, kept to the shade or indoors, filmed and photographed by the same crew, with the vows recorded on a microphone worn by the officiant.
- Evening Couple portraits in the Old Market, on the brick-paved streets1, then the reception.
- Sunset11. The last light for the closing portraits and the film's final frames.
July averages 3.55 inches of precipitation12, so the ceremony carries a covered or indoor alternative agreed ahead of time. The plan reverses in winter: in January the sun sets at 17:1911, the average high is 33.6°F and the low 15.2°F12, so we shorten outdoor portraits and place the ceremony early enough to keep the best of the daylight.

How we match you with your photographer
Troth Weddings is a network of independent wedding photographers and videographers, built location by location. When you inquire about Omaha, we introduce you to the partner photographer matched to it. We share their recent galleries and films and set up a call. You book directly with them; we stay in the loop until your gallery is delivered.
Partners join by invitation. Before we list anyone we review full weddings, not highlight reels, and how they handle contracts, backups and delivery.
How booking works
- Send the form with your date and location.
- We reply within one business day with the Omaha price list and the partner's recent work.
- Call with the photographer; if it fits, a deposit holds the date.
- A short questionnaire about people, places and timing, two weeks before.
- The day.
- A sneak peek first, then the full gallery and the film on the dates set in your contract.
Good to know in Omaha
Marriage licenses come from the Douglas County Clerk at the Omaha-Douglas Civic Center, 1819 Farnam Street, Room H0813. The Clerk's fee page, as archived in January 2026, lists a $25 fee14, but Nebraska's county-clerk fee statute has a version effective July 18, 202615, so confirm the current amount with the Clerk. The license must be used within one year3. Anyone aged 19 or older may apply; 17- and 18-year-olds need notarized consent from a parent or guardian13. A license from any Nebraska county can be used for a ceremony anywhere in Nebraska, and applicants' names and ages are published in the Omaha World-Herald and the Daily Record13. The archived fee page also lists $9 for a certified copy14.
At least two witnesses, besides the officiant, must be present at the ceremony2, and the officiant returns the record to the issuing county clerk within 15 days16. For the weather, April averages a 64.1°F high and a 41.1°F low12.

Questions couples ask
01How far in advance should we book a wedding photographer in Omaha?
As soon as your date and place are fixed. The license won't hold you back: a Nebraska license can be used within one year of issuance3, so you can collect it well ahead. Book the photographer first, since we can only match you with a partner who is free on your date.
02Do you travel to Omaha, and is travel included?
Omaha is one of our listed locations, and travel is built into the quote rather than added later. A license from any Nebraska county can be used for a ceremony anywhere in Nebraska13, so if you want to marry outside the city, name the place on the form and the price list is written for it.
03Can we book photo and video together in Omaha?
Yes. Every collection comes as photo, video or both, made by one team on the day, so there is a single schedule for the Old Market, the river and the ceremony. Choose Photo + Video on the form and the Omaha price list covers both.
04How many photos do we receive, and when?
The count depends on how long we cover and how the day moves, and your partner sets it in the contract; we won't print one number for every Omaha wedding. The sequence is fixed: a sneak peek within days, then the full gallery and the film on the contract dates.
05What happens if it rains on our wedding day?
May averages 4.66 inches of precipitation and August 4.6 inches12, so we plan for rain instead of hoping it away. The ceremony gets an agreed covered or indoor alternative, portraits move to dry stops, and your partner talks through the options with you before the date.
Say when.
Give us a date, or a season, and the Omaha price list is with you within one business day along with a partner's recent work. Say on the form if you'd like the ceremony in shade.
