These are common questions about booking a wedding photographer and videographer, answered without numbers we cannot source. Questions couples ask
01What is a normal price to pay for a wedding photographer?
There is no single normal price, because it depends on the date, the length of coverage, whether you add film, the photographer's team and how far they travel. That is why we do not publish one number. Ask for the price list for your location and compare it with the recent work attached.
02How do I find the right wedding photographer?
Look at full weddings, not only highlight reels, and ask how the photographer handles contracts, backups and delivery times. Then talk to them: you will spend a long day together. We apply the same test before we list a partner, and we introduce you to one matched to your location.
03How much does an elopement cost?
It depends on the place, the collection and the date. A half day is the usual elopement collection, and the price list for your location shows what photo, video or both would cost there. License and permit fees are separate and set by local authorities; the location guides cite them where we found them.
04Who do I sign a contract with?
With your photographer. We introduce you to one partner photographer for your location, and the deposit, the contract and the delivery dates are between you and them, so every detail of the day is agreed with the person who will be there.
05Do you plan weddings or book venues?
No. We photograph and film weddings; we do not plan them, broker venues or recommend vendors. A planner or coordinator, if you have one, works alongside your photographer. Places on this site are named only as locations where we shoot.
06How far in advance should we book?
Book once you know your date and place. Popular dates fill first, and a date is held only when a deposit is paid under the photographer's contract. If the date is close, send the form anyway and we will tell you quickly whether the partner photographer matched to your location is free.
07Do you travel to our location, and is travel included?
Every place we shoot has its own page, and travel to it is built into the quote. If your wedding is somewhere else, tell us in the form; travel is built into the quote.
08Can we book photo and video together?
Yes. Every collection comes as photo, video, or both, with the same team on the day, so the photographer and the videographer plan one schedule. You can also choose photo only or film only. The price list for your location shows the three options side by side.
09How many photos do we receive, and when?
The number depends on the length of coverage and the pace of the day, and your contract states it with the delivery dates. A sneak peek arrives first, within days of the wedding, and the full edited gallery follows on the date in your contract.
10What happens if it rains on our wedding day?
Your photographer plans for it before the day, with covered spots, indoor light and a flexible portrait window. Rain changes where the pictures are made, rarely whether they are made. The location pages on this site describe the local weather and light with their sources.
11Can we get the raw files?
Photographers deliver edited images as standard, and whether raw files are offered is each photographer's decision. Anything agreed is written into your contract. If you need them, ask on the first call, before you sign and before a deposit holds the date.
12Do we need witnesses to elope?
It depends on the state or province, and sometimes on whether you marry at a courthouse or with a private officiant. We do not give legal advice. Check the requirement with the issuing authority; the location guides cite the authority's own page wherever we found one.
13Can you help us choose a time and a spot for the ceremony?
Yes. Your photographer can suggest where the ceremony will look best and when the light is kind. The location pages list the spots we shoot and the sun times, and the partner turns them into a plan for your date.
14Do you record the vows and speeches?
Vows, yes: lavalier microphones and a separate recorder placed with the officiant capture the ceremony from two sources. Speeches depend on the room and its sound setup, so ask your partner on the first call what your venue allows and how they would record it.
15Do you fly a drone?
Only where the rules allow it. Parks, cities and venues each set limits, and some do not allow drones at all. Your partner checks the rules for your location before offering aerial footage, and the location pages cite the rule wherever we found one.
16How long is the wedding film, and when is it delivered?
The feature follows the day in order, so its length depends on your collection and what happens in it. A sneak peek or teaser comes first. Running times and delivery dates are set in your contract, so ask for them on the first call.
