Wedding photographer & videographer in Eureka Springs

In Eureka Springs the license rule comes first: as published, the Carroll County desk charges $60 in cash, in exact change1, and Arkansas asks for no witnesses2. After that, a Victorian hillside town built around its springs is ours to photograph and film, with one team and travel in the quote.

Good to know in Eureka Springs

As published on the city's page, which we read in an archived June 2024 snapshot, the Carroll County Clerk's desk at the Western District Courthouse, 44 South Main Street, sells the license for $60 in cash and exact change1. You need photo ID matching your legal name and your Social Security number, and both of you must be 18 or over1. A March 2026 news report said the county Quorum Court was considering moving funding for the Eureka Springs desk to the Berryville budget, with licenses still issued in Berryville about 20 minutes away and no decision reported; confirm the desk is open before you travel3.

An Arkansas license is good for 60 days, can be used anywhere in the state and needs no witnesses2. Return it, used or unused, to the issuing clerk within 60 days or a $100 penal bond is executed4. Eureka Springs stands at 1,260 ft5.

Wedding detail

An October wedding day in Eureka Springs runs on shorter light than the summer: on October 15 the sun rises at 07:22 and sets at 18:387. This sample is built around those times; your own is set with the photographer.

  1. Getting ready, with details shot in natural light from a window.
  2. Family portraits in the Historic District, among buildings mostly dating from 1880 to 1910 and built around the springs8.
  3. The ceremony.
  4. Couple portraits on the Harmon Loop and Spring Garden trails, past historic homes9.
  5. Last frames at Basin Spring Park in low sun, ahead of sunset at 18:387.

Rain can arrive in any season here. At the Eureka Springs station, October averages 3.71 in and April 4.38 in, with 3.69 in in July and 2.65 in in January6. We agree an indoor or covered fallback near the ceremony in advance. Heat peaks in July, at an 88.5 °F average high, and January nights fall to a 26.1 °F average low6, so a winter ceremony starts early and stays short. The in-town trails are walked, not driven9, so the schedule leaves time between stops. Beaver Lake, with about 487 miles of shoreline10, is a separate outing, so a lake session is planned as its own block of the day.

Where we shoot in Eureka Springs

Eureka Springs is a town to walk, so most of our plan is on foot. We have not sourced the city's ceremony rules for its parks, so confirm them with the Parks and Recreation Commission before you choose one. These are the places we plan around.

  • Eureka Springs Historic District listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1970, with much of it built from 1880 to 1910 around the springs and about 20% of buildings from the 1890s in Queen Anne or Second Empire style8.
  • Basin Spring Park the downtown park around the legendary healing spring, with the Basin Park Fire Bell, war memorials and a historic bandshell used for concerts11. Check the concert calendar before you fix a weekend ceremony here.
  • In-town trails downtown streets plus the Harmon Loop and Spring Garden trails, passing historic homes and the springs and gardens revered since the 1850s9.
  • Black Bass Lake City Park a lake in the West Leatherwood Creek headwaters behind an earthen and cut-stone dam from 1894, with no facilities; the dam, the area below it and the spillway are no-access areas11.
  • Lake Leatherwood City Park 1,610 acres around an 85-acre spring-fed lake11.
  • Beaver Lake an Ozark reservoir formed by a dam on the White River, with about 487 miles of shoreline and limestone bluffs10.

How we match you with your photographer

Troth Weddings is a network of independent wedding photographers and videographers, built location by location. When you inquire about Eureka Springs, we introduce you to the partner photographer matched to it. We share their recent galleries and films and set up a call. You book directly with them; we stay in the loop until your gallery is delivered.

Partners join by invitation. Before we list anyone we review full weddings, not highlight reels, and how they handle contracts, backups and delivery.

How booking works

  1. Send the form with your date and location.
  2. We reply within one business day with the Eureka Springs price list and the partner's recent work.
  3. Call with the photographer; if it fits, a deposit holds the date.
  4. A short questionnaire about people, places and timing, two weeks before.
  5. The day.
  6. A sneak peek first, then the full gallery and the film on the dates set in your contract.

Questions couples ask

01Where should we elope in Eureka Springs?

Decide between town and woods. In town, the Historic District and Basin Spring Park811; in the woods, Lake Leatherwood City Park, with an 85-acre lake11. We have not sourced the city's park ceremony rules, so confirm them with the Parks and Recreation Commission. Our Eureka Springs elopement page covers the paperwork.

02What are the prices for wedding and elopement packages in Eureka Springs?

We do not publish package prices, because they depend on the date, the team and how far we travel. The Eureka Springs price list shows half day, full day and two days, each as photo, video or both. The one fixed cost we can source is the Carroll County license, which is $60 in cash as published1.

03How far in advance should we book a wedding photographer in Eureka Springs?

Book when you set the date, and buy the license close to it. An Arkansas license is good for 60 days2, so it can be picked up after the team is booked. After the call, a deposit holds your date with the partner. Check the license desk's hours separately, since a news report flagged a possible change3.

04What happens if it rains on our wedding day in Eureka Springs?

Rain is possible in every month: the Eureka Springs station averages 2.65 in in January, 4.38 in in April, 3.69 in in July and 3.71 in in October6. We agree an indoor or covered fallback beforehand, keep the portrait walk short, and photograph through a passing shower when the light allows.

05Do you travel to Eureka Springs, and is travel included?

Yes. Travel is built into the quote, and we introduce an independent partner photographer matched to Eureka Springs. Beaver Lake, with about 487 miles of shoreline10, and the Beaver Bridge over the White River12 lie a drive outside town; tell us the site and the partner plans the route.

Say when.

Tell us the date, whether you are eloping or planning a weekend, and whether you want town or woods. We reply within one business day with the Eureka Springs price list and a partner's recent work.
