In short
A Eureka Springs elopement needs a license from the Carroll County Clerk and an officiant, but no witnesses. As published, the desk takes cash in exact change and a news report said it may move to Berryville, so we check the desk and plan a half day around the ceremony.
Eloping in Eureka Springs
Arkansas keeps an elopement simple: no witnesses are required1, so the two of you and an officiant are enough. A minister who performs the ceremony must have credentials recorded in an Arkansas county2, so check that before you ask a friend to officiate.
The half day follows the town. We start with getting ready and a quiet first look, walk together to the site, hold the ceremony, then use the rest of the time for portraits on foot. One crew shoots photo and video, so there is one schedule, and the ceremony audio is recorded on the officiant.
Choose the setting before the date. Downtown has the Historic District3, the city parks have lakes and trails4, and Beaver Lake, with about 487 miles of shoreline, lies a drive away5. We have not sourced the city's park ceremony rules, so the site is confirmed before the date is final.
Getting married in Eureka Springs: the paperwork
As published in a June 2024 snapshot of the city's page, the Carroll County Clerk's desk at the Western District Courthouse, 44 South Main Street, is open Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, and Saturday, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm6. The fee is $60 in cash and exact change6; bring a driver's license or federal or state photo ID matching your legal name, know your Social Security number, and both of you must be 18 or over. A drop box at the courthouse entrance takes completed licenses after hours6.
Check before you travel: a March 2026 news report said the Quorum Court was considering moving the desk's funding to the Berryville budget, with licenses issued in Berryville about 20 minutes away and no decision reported7.

The day
A half day in Eureka Springs

This sample is an April half day, built on sunrise at 06:41 and sunset at 19:48 on April 1510. April is also the wettest of the four months we list, at 4.38 in at the Eureka Springs station9, so a covered fallback is part of the plan.
- Getting ready and a quiet first look.
- The crew walks the site with the officiant.
- The ceremony.
- Couple portraits on the trails.
- Final frames in the historic streets, then lunch.
The Harmon Loop and Spring Garden trails pass historic homes and the springs and gardens revered since the 1850s11, which is why the portrait hour goes there. Basin Spring Park's historic bandshell is used for concerts4, so check the date against concert listings before settling on a ceremony in the park.
The April average is a 69.9 °F high and a 46.9 °F low9: cool in the morning, comfortable by lunch.
| Month | Sunrise | Sunset |

Where we shoot an elopement in Eureka Springs
Four places we plan Eureka Springs elopements around.
- Beaver Bridge a one-lane suspension bridge built in 1949 that carries Highway 187 over the White River at Beaver, the only suspension bridge open to traffic in Arkansas, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 199012.
- Lake Leatherwood City Park a park with over 25 miles of trails4 around a lake held by a hand-cut native limestone dam, built by the WPA in the early 1940s; the park is listed on the National Register.
- Basin Spring Park downtown, with a historic bandshell, the Basin Park Fire Bell and war memorials4.
- Black Bass Lake City Park a lake with no facilities; the dam, the area below it and the spillway are no-access areas, so we shoot the shore, not the structure4.

Collections
Every collection comes as photo, video, or both, with the same team on the day. Half day covers an elopement or a small ceremony and portraits; Full day runs from getting ready to the first hour of the reception; Two days adds a rehearsal dinner, a welcome evening or a next-morning session. Travel to Eureka Springs is built into the quote, not added later.
Prices depend on the date, the team and how far we travel, so we send a price list for Eureka Springs rather than publishing one number for every town. Ask for it below; it arrives within one business day.

Questions about eloping in Eureka Springs
01How much does an average elopement cost?
We do not publish an average, because the price depends on the date, the team and how far we travel. The Eureka Springs price list shows photo, video or both for a half day, a full day and two days. The fixed cost we can source is the Carroll County license, $60 in cash as published6.
02How much is it to get eloped in Arkansas?
03Do we need witnesses to elope in Eureka Springs?
04Can you help us choose a time and a spot for the ceremony?
Yes. We match the site to the season and the light, with sunrise at 06:41 and sunset at 19:48 in April10. We have not sourced the city's ceremony rules for its parks, so we ask you to confirm them with the Parks and Recreation Commission before the spot is final.
05Can family join us for part of the day?
Yes. Arkansas sets no witness requirement1, so family can join for any part of the day. The limit is the place, not the license: we have not sourced guest limits for Eureka Springs parks, so tell us who is coming and we confirm the site's rules before choosing it.
Say when.
Tell us the date, who is coming and whether you want town or woods. We reply within one business day with the Eureka Springs price list and a partner's recent work.
