Georgia: wedding photo & video
Troth Weddings introduces couples marrying in Georgia to an independent partner photographer, starting with Savannah, with one team for photo and video and travel built into the quote. Georgia marriage licenses come from county probate courts, and a Georgia license is valid only for ceremonies performed in Georgia1.

Wedding photo & video across Georgia
Troth Weddings is a network of independent wedding photographers and videographers. In Georgia we start in Savannah, where the City draws a clear line for park weddings: fewer than 50 people and no set-up means no permit2. That suits a small ceremony, and the same team also covers full days and two-day weekends.
One crew handles photo and video, so the person who plans your portraits also plans where the microphones go, and you deal with one partner from the first call to the delivered gallery. We send that partner's recent galleries and films before you speak. If your date is elsewhere in Georgia, name the town on the form; travel is built into the quote.
Locations in Georgia
Savannah is the Georgia location with its own pages. Our Savannah wedding page covers the squares, the light and the paperwork for a full wedding, and our Savannah elopement page covers the small version: a half day, a first look and a short ceremony in a square or a park. Pick the one that matches your day. Both end in the same form, and both are answered within one business day.
Georgia marriage license basics
In Georgia, marriage licenses are issued by county probate courts. If at least one of you is a Georgia resident, the license can be issued by the probate court in any Georgia county1. If neither of you is, it must be obtained in the county where the ceremony will be performed3. A Georgia license is valid only for ceremonies performed in Georgia1.
Premarital education is optional, and required only at 171. To count, it must be completed within 12 months before you apply, include at least six hours of instruction, be taken together, and be proved with a notarized letter or certificate1. Blood tests are no longer required1. For Chatham County's fee, appointment rules and park permits, see our Savannah page.

Questions couples ask
01How far in advance should we book a wedding photographer in Georgia?
Book when you have a date. A Georgia license can come from the probate court of any Georgia county if one of you lives in the state1, so the paperwork is rarely what sets your timeline; the photographer's date is. A deposit holds it once you have spoken with the partner we introduce.
02Do you travel to Georgia, and is travel included?
Travel is built into the quote, not added later. Our Georgia pages are written for Savannah. If your wedding is somewhere else in the state, tell us the town on the form and we will say whether we can match a partner photographer to it.
03Can we book photo and video together?
Yes. Every collection comes as photo, video, or both, with the same team on the day. That matters in Savannah, where the squares are first-come, first-served2: one crew that plans the order of stops is easier on you and on everyone else using the square.
04What happens if it rains on our wedding day?
Savannah's wettest month in the 1991–2020 normals is June, at 6.65 in4. We plan for rain from the start: a sheltered option for each portrait stop, a second portrait window later in the day, and a decision made together in the morning rather than at the park gate.
