Wedding photo & video across Kentucky
Troth Weddings is a network of independent wedding photographers and videographers. In Kentucky we start in Louisville, where Frederick Law Olmsted designed 18 of the city's 123 public parks3, so a park ceremony has real choice. The city also sits across the Ohio River from Indiana4, which matters for the paperwork, as the licensing section below explains.
One team handles photo and video, so you work with one partner from the first call to the delivered gallery, and the same people plan the portraits and the sound. We send that partner's recent galleries and films before you speak. If your date is elsewhere in Kentucky, name the town on the form. Travel is built into the quote.
Locations in Kentucky
In Kentucky we shoot in Louisville. Its page covers the river, the Olmsted parks, the Victorian streets and a May timeline built around the sun times, with the county clerk's rules set out in full. The page is written for a full wedding; a small ceremony follows the same steps with a shorter day. For a wedding elsewhere in Kentucky, tell us the town on the form and we will reply within one business day.
Kentucky marriage license basics
Kentucky marriage licenses are issued by county clerks. The fee is $60, set by KRS 64.012 as amended by Senate Bill 114 from June 27, 20251. There is no waiting period. The license is valid for 30 days, counting the date of issue5, and the ceremony needs two witnesses in addition to the couple and the officiant6.
Applicants 18 or older may obtain the license in any Kentucky county2. It can be used in any Kentucky county but not outside Kentucky2. No marriage may be solemnized without a license7, and only certain people may solemnize one: ministers or priests in regular communion with a religious society, justices and judges of the Court of Justice and certain other officials, or a religious society without a minister under its own usage6.

Questions couples ask
01How far in advance should we book a wedding photographer in Kentucky?
02Do you travel to Kentucky, and is travel included?
Travel is built into the quote, not added later. Our Kentucky pages are written for Louisville. If your wedding is somewhere else in the state, tell us the town on the form and we will say whether we can match a partner photographer to it. Remember that a Kentucky license cannot be used outside Kentucky2.
03Can we book photo and video together?
Yes. Every collection comes as photo, video, or both, with the same team on the day. That matters on the Big Four Bridge, which has carried bicycle and pedestrian traffic since 20134: a single crew is easier to keep out of the way, and one partner answers for the whole day.
04What happens if it rains on our wedding day?
May is Louisville's wettest month in the normals, at 5.18 in8. We plan for rain from the start: a sheltered option for each portrait stop, a second portrait window later in the day, and a decision made together in the morning rather than at the gate.
