Wedding photo & video across Tennessee
In Tennessee we shoot in two cities, Knoxville and Chattanooga. In Knoxville, World's Fair Park sits downtown on the former grounds of the 1982 World's Fair and is home to the Sunsphere2. One team makes both the photographs and the film, an independent partner photographer is matched to your location and date, and the contract you sign is with them.
Tennessee's license is portable: any county clerk in the state can issue it, wherever you live and wherever the ceremony takes place1. That frees the order of your trip. You can collect the license in one county and use it in another, so the paperwork does not tie you to one county.
The price list is written for the city you name, with travel built in. For weddings elsewhere in Tennessee, put the town and the date on the form and we will say whether we can match a partner photographer to it.
Locations in Tennessee
We cover two Tennessee cities. Knoxville has its own page with the river-and-ridge places we shoot, sunrise and sunset by month and the Knox County Clerk's license steps. Chattanooga has its own page too, with its own light, places and paperwork. Each page is written for its city, so read the one nearest your ceremony, and use the form for any other Tennessee town.
Tennessee marriage license basics
Tennessee marriage licenses are issued by a county clerk under T.C.A. § 36-3-103, and a license is valid for 30 days1. The license may be issued by the county clerk in any Tennessee county, regardless of where the couple lives or where the ceremony takes place1.
In Knox County, for example, there is no waiting period and the fee is $97.50, reduced to $37.50 with a notarized premarital preparation certificate3. Both of you apply in person with proof of date of birth and a Social Security number if one has been issued; completing the online pre-application saves time at the office, and the license is good for a ceremony anywhere in Tennessee3. The Knoxville page has the rest.
Tennessee questions
01How far in advance should we book a wedding photographer in Tennessee?
As soon as your date and place are set. A Tennessee license is valid for 30 days and any county clerk can issue it1, so collect it in the weeks before the wedding, after you have chosen your photographer, and from whichever county is convenient for you.
02Do you travel to Tennessee, and is travel included?
Travel is built into the quote for the locations we list, and the price list is written for the city you name. Because any Tennessee county clerk can issue the license wherever you live1, a couple traveling from out of state can collect it on the way in, before the ceremony.
03Can we book photo and video together in Tennessee?
Yes. A collection is photo, video or both, shot by the same team on the day, which means one schedule and one set of portrait stops. Choose Photo + Video on the form and the price list covers both, written for Knoxville or Chattanooga.
04What happens if it rains on our wedding day?
We plan for it. Knoxville averages 4.13 inches of precipitation in May and 5.25 inches in July4, so the ceremony gets a covered or indoor alternative agreed in advance, and portraits move to dry stops while your partner talks you through the changes.
