Wedding photo & video across North Carolina

Troth Weddings is a network of independent wedding photographers and videographers. In North Carolina we start in Charlotte, where the oldest public park, Independence Park, dates to 19242 and the biggest park on our Charlotte list, Freedom Park, covers 98 acres around a 7-acre lake3. A wedding there can stay small and green without leaving the city.

Photo and video come from one crew, so you work with one partner from the first call to the delivered gallery, and the camera positions and the microphones are planned together. We send that partner's recent galleries and films before you speak. If your date is elsewhere in North Carolina, name the town on the form. Travel is built into the quote.

Locations in North Carolina

In North Carolina we shoot in Charlotte. The wedding page covers the parks, the gardens, an October timeline and the license rules in detail, and the videography page covers the feature, the teaser, the ceremony edit and how sound is recorded. Photo and video come from one crew, so you can read both pages before you write to us. Both end in the same form, answered within one business day.

North Carolina marriage license basics

In North Carolina, marriage licenses are issued by county Registers of Deeds, and a license can be purchased at any Register of Deeds office in the state. That means you can apply near where you live and still marry in Charlotte. The fee is $601: $5 goes to the Children's Trust Fund, $30 to the Domestic Violence Center Fund, and the county keeps $251.

There is no waiting period; the license is valid immediately on issuance and for 60 days from issuance1, and the ceremony needs two witnesses. The officiant must return the completed license to the Register of Deeds within 10 days after the ceremony1. You complete a marriage license application worksheet and an affidavit of eligibility to marry before it is issued1. For Mecklenburg County's listed fee, see our Charlotte page.

Questions couples ask

01How far in advance should we book a wedding photographer in North Carolina?

Book when you have a date. There is no waiting period and a license is valid for 60 days from issuance1, so the license is the last job and the photographer's date is the one that needs lead time. A deposit holds it once you have spoken with the partner we introduce.

02Do you travel to North Carolina, and is travel included?

Travel is built into the quote, not added later. Our North Carolina pages are written for Charlotte. If your wedding is somewhere else in the state, tell us the town on the form and we will say whether we can match a partner photographer to it.

03Can we book photo and video together?

Yes. Every collection comes as photo, video, or both, with the same team on the day, so the film crew and the photographer share one timeline. Our Charlotte wedding videography page shows what the film includes and how the sound is recorded, and one partner answers for the whole day.

04What happens if it rains on our wedding day?

August is Charlotte's wettest month in the normals, at 4.35 in4. We plan for rain from the start: a sheltered option for each portrait stop, a second portrait window later in the day, and a decision made together in the morning rather than at the park gate.
