Pennsylvania: wedding photo & video
Troth Weddings offers Pennsylvania couples one photo-and-video team, matched to an independent partner photographer; in Pennsylvania we shoot in Pittsburgh. Under Title 23, Chapter 13 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, a license carries a three-day waiting period, stays valid for sixty days and works in any county1. Ask for the price list.

Wedding photo & video across Pennsylvania
Pennsylvania coverage on this site begins in Pittsburgh, where Point State Park sits downtown at the point the Allegheny and Monongahela rivers meet to form the Ohio2. One team makes both the photographs and the film, and every inquiry is matched to a single independent partner photographer. You book directly with that partner, and we stay in the loop until your gallery arrives.
The price list we send is written for the place you name, not for the state in general, and travel is built into it. If your wedding is in another part of Pennsylvania, put the town and the date on the form and we will say whether we can match a partner photographer to it.
What does not change from county to county is the license: the waiting period and the validity window are set by state law, which is why the basics further down apply wherever in Pennsylvania you marry.
Locations in Pennsylvania
Our Pennsylvania location is Pittsburgh. Its page has the sunrise and sunset times for each month, the rivers, bridges and parks we use for portraits, and the Allegheny County license steps. A separate page covers wedding videography in Pittsburgh: the feature film, the teaser, the ceremony edit and how the sound is recorded. If your wedding is elsewhere in the state, tell us the town on the form.
Pennsylvania marriage license basics
Pennsylvania marriage licenses are issued by county offices under Title 23, Chapter 13 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes1. The law sets a three-day waiting period: no license may be issued before the third day after the application, although a court can authorize earlier issuance in listed cases1. A license is valid for 60 days and authorizes a ceremony in any county of Pennsylvania1.
The statute has each applicant appear in person and be examined under oath, with affidavits allowed for active military service or emergency office closures1. Allegheny County also accepts a video conference, charges $90, and advises applying at least two to three weeks before the ceremony3. Its license can be used in any other Pennsylvania county, and the full steps are on our Pittsburgh page.

Pennsylvania questions
01How far in advance should we book a wedding photographer in Pennsylvania?
As soon as your date and place are set. The paperwork fits around an early booking: the state waiting period is three days and a license is valid for 60 days1, so you apply after you have chosen your photographer, not before, and the photographer's calendar is what limits your date.
02Do you travel to Pennsylvania, and is travel included?
Travel is built into the quote for the locations we list, and the price list is written for the place you name. A Pennsylvania license authorizes a ceremony in any county of the state1, so holding the ceremony in a different county from the one where you applied needs no second license.
03Can we book photo and video together in Pennsylvania?
Yes. Every collection is photo, video or both, shot by one team on the day, so there is one schedule and one set of portrait stops. Choose Photo + Video on the form; our Pittsburgh films page explains what the film includes and how the sound is recorded.
04Can we get the raw files?
Raw files are not part of a collection, which includes the edited gallery. Whether a photographer releases unedited files is a matter for the contract with your partner, so ask on the first call, before the deposit holds your date, and get the answer in writing.
